About Maura
For 25 years, Maura McEvoy has been pointing her camera at some of the world’s most intriguing sights. From the quiet of her own studio or atop an elephant in India, she strives to not just document beauty but to tell a story. She believes wholeheartedly in the beauty of the imperfect, delighting in the unexpected, open to it’s tales and her need to be spontaneous.
Maura began her career as a magazine editor and then a set decorator, working every day with talented photographers. This was her classroom for over a decade. When a high-powered magazine editor told her she should buy a tripod, Maura’s career in photography began. Since then, she’s journeyed the world shooting travel, interiors and food for magazines such as Town & Country, Food & Wine, House Beautiful, Oprah, Martha Stewart Living, National Geographic Travel, Outside, and Conde Nast Traveler.
Maura has shot cookbooks for Ina Garten, The Gramercy Tavern, Michael Anthony and John Besh.
